Pak vs. End Who Really Lost the Match?

It looked like Pakistan had the game in the bag after Yasir Shah, their star leg-spinner, got England’s batsman Jos Buttler to hit a ball straight to Pakistan’s ace fielder, Fakhar Zaman. As most people expected, Pakistan would win the match and move into the final round of the World Cup 2018. But there was one person who didn’t think Pakistan would win, and that was Pakistan themselves! In what might just go down as one of the worst fielding blunders in cricket history, their right fielder dropped the ball when it was still rolling towards him.

Pak vs. End: Who Really Lost the Match?

Pakistan's Performance

Pakistani team’s performance today was disappointing, but it is too early to say that they lost the match against England. The team played very well in the first two matches and they still have a chance to win this series as there are three more matches left in total. Pakistani team needs to step up their game if they want to keep their winning streak alive against England and stay on top of ICC T20 rankings.

England's Performance

The England team failed to hit the ground running and were bowled out for 219 in their first innings, before the Pakistan team got stuck into them in reply and ended with a huge total of 444-8 at Eden Gardens. This meant that England needed to score at least 284 in their second innings, but they were undone by Mohammad Amir who had his best performance of the series so far and took six wickets as Pakistan won by 180 runs to take a 2-1 lead

The Umpires' Performance

The match was hosted by Pakistan and they were up against England in a T20 warm-up match. The umpires' performance was questionable and contributed to the loss of Pakistan, as they had a lot of good chances which were not capitalized on. At the end of the day, it is hard to say who really lost the match, but both teams played well and it will be interesting to see how this goes when they face each other in their final World T20 game on April 4th.
